Hear them, speak them, get graded

Reading phrases is step one. In the Zorg Academy every care routine comes as a four-step ladder: read a full dialogue and choose your responses, then a guided session where a coach whispers “Misschien kan je zeggen…” when you get stuck, then a real AI roleplay with a spiekbrief next to it, and finally an exam roleplay without help, graded on language and on care content. Around 50 routines, vocabulary in Dutch, English and Portuguese.

Frequently asked questions

Why full sentences instead of word lists?

Because that is how you speak on a ward. A word list gives you “de pijn”; a sentence gives you “Welk cijfer geeft u de pijn, van nul tot tien?” with the grammar and rhythm built in. Sentences transfer to real conversations; loose words rarely do.

Do patients use “u” or “je”?

You address patients and family with “u” unless they invite you to say “je”. Colleagues are almost always “je”. The phrases above follow that convention.

What level are these phrases?

A2 to B1. That is deliberate: it matches the BIG language requirement for nurses and the level you need for safe daily care communication.

Can I listen to these phrases somewhere?

Yes. In the Dutch Daily app the care dialogues are voiced by natural Dutch voices, and you practise speaking them in AI roleplays that give you a transcript and feedback per conversation.
